New England law firm Adler Pollock & Sheehan PC and former partner Michael Gilleran won a legal malpractice lawsuit filed against them by a former client who claims that the attorney gave them bad advice motivated by personal greed.

Aashish Kalra and Asia Pacific Ventures Ltd. sued Gilleran, their former attorney, after Gilleran represented them in several disputes regarding Trikona Advisers Ltd., a Cayman Island entity partially owned by Kalra, an investment fund manager.

Gilleran gave Kalra legal advice regarding the removal of Rakshitt Chugh, who formerly owned 50% of TAL—advice that Kalra claims was self-dealing.
